Some of our Preschool Activities 2021-22

Building friendships, working together to explore and problem solve

Walk to the park
We often walk to the nearby play park for fun and physical development.  We look out for things on our way and talk about them, maybe seasonal changes and things of interest.

Learning and Exploring

Interest in Occupations
We had a special visit from one of our lovely mums who is a Police Officer.  The children were able to have a go at pressing the siren, dressing up and finding out how they help people.

Our Nativity Christmas 2021
It was so lovely to be able to perform this to parents in the hall again this year as last year we were not able to due to COVID.   The children really enjoyed dressing up, singing and doing their first ever performance. We were so proud of them all!

Creating 'firework pictures' - after bonfire night we played a soundtrack of a firework display and encouraged the children to create their own firework displays by flicking paint, drizzling glue and glitter.  They looked really effective!

Our end of year party - we have a party on the last day of term in July where we wish our eldest children lots of happiness with their move onto school.   We often have Professor Bumble to entertain them as he is so funny and the children always have lots of fun and laughter when he visits us!

Raising Tadpoles
We love nature at preschool.  The children watched tadpoles grow into froglets, we then put them in our little pond ensuring that they have places to climb out and we then have frog watch!    Sometimes they are lucky enough to spot them!    We were also lucky to have a blue tit nesting in our bird box, the children sat quietly and watched it come and go, feeding it's babies.

Raising caterpillars to butterflies.
This is something we love doing with the children each year, its so exciting for them to see the caterpillars hatch out of their cocoons and finally get released.

Forest School morning
The children had a great time exploring the school orchard during our Forest School morning, making nature crowns and butterflies and then looking for mini beasts.
